The musical is arranged by Artman, based on The Carnival of the Animals (Le carnaval des animaux) which is a humorous musical suite of fourteen movements by the French Romantic composer Camille Saint-Saëns. The music is so beautiful and funny with the children’s singing to imitate the animals.The lion, the turtles, the singing donkeys, waltzing elephants bring to life the music of Camille Saint-Saens in this delightful revue.

Our 2012 production revolves around the story that took place in the Marsovie embassy, Paris in 1905. As an attempt to save the Kingdom of Marsovie from imminent bankruptcy, someone must marry the glamorous and very wealthy widow, Missia Palmieri! This spins the love story between Missia, the wise and beautiful widow, and; Danilo, the lofty idealist.

Following our successful initial collaboration with Le French May in 2011, City Opera collaborated with this much-anticipated annual French festival and presented Le Vie Parisienne. This light-hearted French operetta painted a glittery European social scene showcasing the extravagant and hedonistic side of Parisian lifestyle.

We successfully delivered Orphée aux Enfers, which marked our initial collaboration with Le French May. The production was subsequently listed as "The Best Production of the Year". Orphée aux enfers is an operetta by Jacques Offenbach. The story revolves around the adulterous happenings among various Greek Gods.

City Opera has successfully delivered a debut performance of Die Fledermaus on June 13 and 14, 2009 at Grand Theatre of Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The debut performance is well received by general audience and the profits going to the sole beneficiary of this charity debut performance amounts to HKD$520,000.
